RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student will assist the on-site YCCC IT staff with account troubleshooting, computer lab set-up and maintenance, researching and resolving hardware and software issues, and other duties related to the daily workings of the IT HelpDesk.   

REQUIREMENTS:

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Lab assistants perform routine laboratory tasks and may maintain open laboratory hours for study sessions. Responsibilities include preparing and caring for laboratory supplies, materials, and equipment. Work is performed under the general supervision of Natural Sciences instructors and/or the department chair.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

Work well with others.

Learn new laboratory procedures.

Follow laboratory safety protocols.

Inventory and organize laboratory supplies.

Prepare solutions and materials for student labs.

Clean, wash, and sterilize laboratory equipment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

To ensure a safe and secure campus for Students, Faculty, Staff, Visitors and guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Campus Safety Officers (SCSO’s) will Staff the Campus Safety Desk, located in the lobby of the Main Building, Patrol the campus on foot to look for hazards or notable circumstances. Assist staff, faculty, and students as needed. Assist with medical emergencies, drills, alarms, trainings and other first responder incidents.

Job Description  The Facilities Student Worker plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and functionality of campus buildings. This position offers a hands-on opportunity for students to contribute to the upkeep of the college's physical environment, while gaining valuable experience in facilities management. The ideal candidate will be dependable, motivated, and willing to take on various tasks ranging from general cleaning to light maintenance and repair work. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:   

•    Cleaning & Sanitation: Perform routine cleaning and sanitation duties in campus buildings, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Tasks may include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal.
•    Painting & Touch-Ups: Assist with painting walls, doors, and other surfaces to maintain the aesthetic appeal of campus facilities. May involve preparation of surfaces, mixing paint, and applying coats as needed.
•    Basic Maintenance & Repairs: Help with light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing issues (e.g., unclogging sinks), tightening fixtures, and other repairs as directed by Facilities staff.
•    Setting Up & Moving Equipment: Assist in setting up rooms for events, moving furniture, and arranging spaces for activities as needed by different departments.

•    Safety & Organization: Ensure that all tools and equipment are used safely and stored properly. Report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or needed repairs to supervisors.
:    Assist with Other Tasks: Support the Facilities team with various other duties as assigned, which may include helping with seasonal cleaning, outdoor maintenance, or special projects.

Qualifications: 

•    Currently enrolled as a student at YORK COUNTY community college.
•    Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
•    Basic knowledge of cleaning supplies and maintenance tools preferred, but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
•    Strong attention to detail, with the ability to follow instructions and take initiative.
•    Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•    Positive attitude and willingness to take on a variety of tasks.
•    Must have good time-management skills and be reliable in meeting work schedules.
